Lisa Forrest

Swimming champion, Australian Olympian, and Commonwealth Games dual gold medallist; mental skills coach and author

Lisa Forrest became a household name when she represented her country as a teenager; she captained the Australian women’s swimming team to the 1980 Moscow Games and was a Commonwealth Games dual gold medallist. Her experiences in retirement have been broad ranging – a TV and radio broadcaster, author, actor, wife and mother she has, lately, become a mental skills coach and facilitator of Mindfulness-based stress reduction.  Her most recent book, Glide – taking the panic out of modern living is the story of how she said good-bye to the get-tough messages of her elite sport years (and accompanying burnout) and embraced self-compassion.
