‘Miracle man’ who survived a near-death experience and then raised millions of dollars for a children’s hospital, UK
Life experiences have the power to change a person’s perspective on how they live and see the world. Anthony takes his audiences on a powerful thought-provoking journey of turning negative situations into positive energy, storytelling how his multiple brushes with death gave him a new infectiously positive approach to life.
Given just a 10% survival rate after catching three life-threatening viral infections after returning from a school trip to Disneyland Paris, Anthony had to re-learn how to talk, walk and function again. After making a full recovery he went on to play a vital role in securing a £7.5m charity partnership. He spent four years inspiring a team of over 20,000 people to help fundraise towards a brand new clinical wing for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, which was opened in January 2018 by the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
In 2015, Anthony was named in the Independent on Sunday’s ‘Happy List’, a collection of 100 inspirational heroes and heroines whose kindness, ingenuity and bravery make Britain a better place to live.
