Working with traumatised refugees to develop science backed interventions that could prevent a mental health disaster, Israel
Amit Bernstein is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Observing Minds Lab at the University of Haifa. He studies how wellbeing and suffering are shaped by the ways in which we process, experience and respond to our internal states. Currently, his lab is focused on the nature and function of attention and awareness in mental health, the salutary and curative properties of mindfulness, and the therapeutic translation of this work for vulnerable populations such as refugees and asylum seekers.
